"German pop-rock act Tokio Hotel is launching a 3D holographic tour - a "virtual" performance to be shown in 12 cities across seven countries.

The promotion, which uses ground-breaking new technology, launches tomorrow (Oct. 2) in Berlin.

The performance will be broadcast via 3D holographic images in 12 stores of Europe's leading consumer electronics retailer, the Media-Saturn Group. Hologram technology uses lasers and allows 3D images of the four musicians to be projected on stage.

Tokio Hotel will perform songs from their new album, “Humanoid” (Universal), for fans in France, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium. The 3D performance was filmed with Tokio Hotel in Hamburg in September.

Tokio Hotel’s virtual tour will begin at a Media Markt store in Berlin, followed by virtual shows in other European cities from Oct. 5-19. This includes a show in Magdeburg, Germany - Tokio Hotel's home town.

The itinerary will climax with an in-person, live performance by Tokio Hotel on Oct. 27 at the opening of France's largest Saturn store in the Paris region.

"This is the perfect innovation, using new technology to bring the excitement of one of Europe's biggest bands to their fans in different countries,” said Max Hole, EVP, Universal Music Group International, in a statement. “It's also evidence of our commitment to support and serve partners such as Media-Saturn, by delivering a great experience for the audience. They present a more electronic style and also a new look.
They answered some questions of the users from 20minutos.es.

Tokio Hotel aren't anymore what they were. After one year almost desapeared, the German band, lead by the twins Bill and Tom Kaulitz, came back with a new album in their arms Humanoid (Universal), that will be released in the next October 6th around the world.

And this time changed their sound, which has now electronic sources, btu also their aesthetics. A big mowhak is now on the top of the lead singer's head, and walks as he can with some high heels. His brother left his dreads behind and now he has dark braids.

Together with Georg and Gustav, bassist and drummer of the band, were in a centre hotel in Madrid with several Spanish media, with whom they talked from their new work and to their personal life. In a distended enviromment and full of jokes, the guys from Tokio Hotel answered to questions of some users of 20minutos.es.

Q1: What was the name of your first band?
TH: First name was Black Questionmark. And then Devilish.

Q2: Question mark was only 2 boys right?
TH: Devilish in the beginning, then Georg & Gustav came.

Q3: Now how did you came up with the name Tokio Hotel?
TH: We like big cities so Tokio Hotel sounded cool. Hotel because it's an international name. You understand it in every country.

Q4: So anything exciting that have happened since your last visit at the hotel? It's been bout 1,5 years since your last visit at the hotel I think :)
TH: We had a cool concert in Rome yesterday, and it's one day less to the album-release now :)

Q5: Now is the album out in the US at the same time? Will it be released on the 2nd?
TH: We hope yes - but we believe in America are always a few days after Europe.

The asker: I think I heard US would get it on the 6t. So yeah only like 4 days.
TH: Yes for sure. With exclusive content on iTunes.
Asker: Nice, I love iTunes.

Q6: Now a lot of habbos want to know about US dates?
TH:

Q7: How was it making the recent album? Any favorite songs?
TH: We have written and produced almost 1 year for this album. It took 1 year - quite a lot of work. Our currently favorite song is Automatic.

Q8: Automatic is the 1st single right?
TH: Yes, it's the first single.

Q9: Now a lot of habbos are wondering if you have any girlfriends?
TH: We're all single accept for Georg.
Asker: There you go ladies.

Q10: Now this is for Tom and Bill. How is it like to be twins?
TH: It's awesome. We always travel with a soulmate.

TH: Yes, we always feel and think the same every second.

TH: We'd love to come to Australia and Japan.

Asker: Now when you guys plan tour dates. Where can we find the info?

TH: No we've never been to Hooters yet. We've had invitations but never made it yet.

Asker: Bill I got to ask... What's up with the hair?
TH: It's very iconic.

TH: No we don't believe in ghosts but we hope aliens exist.
Asker: Wow, a lots of mass questions.

TH: Our current favorite live song to perform with is Humanoid - the b-side of our single.

Asker: Still wanting to know what's up with the hair Bill? It's very iconic to you and the band.

TH: Yes, Bill got a new hair cut... (something like 'it's top secret :)' )

TH: Our highlights from 2008 was VMA and our US tour
TH (about the hasselhoff question): Georg is still a fan and are longing for a new album soon.

TH: Yes, we could date a fan. Tom is doing it every day.
TH: Being in a tour bus is boring because girls are not allowed in there.
TH: We should stop being a band when someone of us quit.
TH: By the way, we will have our 10th anniversary soon.
TH: NO, no specific plans. We forgot the exact day so we don't know when to celebrate.

Bill: Gustav's hair is dark brown, not black.
TH: Use every opportunity - play live as much as you can. send us your demos, maybe we can help you.

Two long years the Tokio Hotel fans had to wait for album number 4. Now, finally, Germany's internationally most successful rock band rewards the patience of their German fans in October! HUMANOID is being released on October 2 and is the impatiently awaited third studio album of Tokio Hotel!

"We worked on this album for over a year, until we had the perfect feeling about the songs and the whole production," says singer Bill Kaulitz. “When I arrived at the photo shoot in Berlin, [photographer] Karl Lagerfeld wanted to start immediately. I had just gotten back from the final album recordings in L.A. and was pretty tired, but Karl cheered me up right away and gave me energy. We got along really well and laughed a lot together – Karl is such a loving person. He immediately knew what kind of photos he wanted. Karl has an amazing vision and to me it felt like he already had the final picture in his head beforehand.”

I have not wanted to take this step, but I feel I have no other choice. There is a fanclub out there that is claiming they are an Official Tokio Hotel fanclub, chosen by management.

They are calling themselves the Official Houston Texas Fanclub. They are NOT official, they are NOT chosen by Tokio Hotel management, they have no authority to be producing and selling merchandise with the name Official Tokio Hotel anything, nor contacting companies and saying they are official and receiving things for promotion and certainly not to be using the Tokio Hotel logo for revenue generation under the “We are Official”.

On his official site, the most famous American rock songwriter and producer, aka Desmond Child, announces that currently he is working with Tokio Hotel.

Do you remember the hits "I was made for lovin' you" by Kiss, "Livin'on a prayer" by Bon Jovi or "Hole in my soul" by Aerosmith? The list of songs written and produced by Desmond Child is quite long... Actually, 300 milions of albums sold in the world have in common him as a composer (principal or collaborator) and producer. And now, we hear that he writes with (for?...) Tokio Hotel, as he did before for the Jonas Brothers a couple years ago. A thing is certain though: even if they have announced a change in their 3rd album, the german four want to make sure that they'll send as many CDs!
